Newport Gallery Night Continues with August Newport Gallery Night

With the Phase III continuing in RI, Newport Gallery Night will be hosting a larger August Newport Gallery Night on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm featuring Beach Studios, Coastal Contemporary Gallery, DeBlois Gallery, and Jamestown Arts Center. With the Newport summer in high gear, it’s the perfect time to experience the art scene around Newport.

Art fans will have a chance to enjoy current and new member work at Beach Studios on exhibit and for sale on the gallery wall, Coastal Contemporary Gallery’s new show “Fluid”, DeBlois Gallery’s 36th Anniversary Members’ Show and Reception, and Jamestown Arts Center’s current show A Mythic Pause, the site specific labyrinth Beckett’s Maze: Go On by Robin Crocker, Art of Protest with the front of the JAC building used as a community exhibition space highlighting protest signs and poster art from Black Lives Matter rallies, and a new sculpture from Anne Mimi Sammis “Dancing with a Dove” in front of the JAC.

With the Phase II reopening in RI, Newport Gallery Night will be hosting a scaled down June Newport Gallery Nighton Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm featuring DeBlois Gallery.  With the Newport summer starting to kick off, it’s the perfect time to experience the art scene around Newport.

Onne van der Wal Gallery will be postponing their book signing of Onne’s new Rizzoli coffee table book, Sailing America until July or August Newport Gallery Night.  In addition, they will be raffling off one of the books during the evening event.

Art fans will have a chance to enjoy DeBlois Gallery’s gorgeous Spring Open Show “Breaking Out”.  It will delight, with a variety of artwork presented by the area’s terrifically talented artists. February Newport Gallery Night Kicks Off the 2020 Season

A new year means a new season of Newport Gallery Night events. The Newport Gallery Organization kicks off its 20th season with February Newport Gallery Night on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at participating galleries, museums and cultural institutions. As the winter weather becomes milder, it’s the perfect time to experience the art scene around Newport.

Make a night of it by exploring the arts and visiting a selection of the participating galleries, museums, and cultural institution. 

February Newport Gallery Night is the perfect night to escape, de-stress and share with your loved one.  Notably, Spring Bull Gallery’s ever popular annual Fakes & Forgeries exhibit is on display. The much anticipated show features serious “copies” and humorous interpretations of well-known artwork, all submitted by local artists and created in a variety of forms and styles. Galen Snow, currently a Visiting Artist at Spring Bull Gallery will be doing an informal demonstration and discussion of her “Paper Montage, Painting with Paper” techniques and creative approach.

Enjoy the Cool Winter Air by Heading Out to December Newport Gallery Night

This December, enjoy the cool air and shop the local art scene for some unique holiday gifts on December Newport Gallery Night which will take place on December 13, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  This will be the LAST NEWPORT GALLERY NIGHT of the year.     

Deblois Gallery is featuring “Looking Upwards”, a holiday art show.  Coastal Contemporary Gallery is hosting “‘W-Intermission” on exhibit through January 20th.  Spring Bull Gallery is hosting the 28th Annual Little Picture Show, an annual showcase of small artistic treasures in oils, watercolors, pastels, graphics, welded metal sculptures, stoneware and other media.   

Additional highlights at some of the other member galleries include: Sheldon Fine Art, showcasing modern marine artist Ken Zier; Atelier Gallery featuring its annual holiday exhibition, “la famiglia”; and Newport Art Museum hosting its Faculty and Student Holiday Arts and Crafts Sale for their monthly “Art After Dark” event.

Our popular FREE Summer Guided Walking Art Tours continue for September Newport Gallery Night. The four separate free, short information tours will run hourly as follows: meeting inside at 4:00 pm at Thames Glass, 5:00 pm at Spring Bull Gallery, 6:00 pm at Art on Spring and 7:00 pm at Arnold Art Store & Gallery. Tours, which will last about 30-45 minutes, will include information about all of the participating galleries, museums and cultural institutions in each area as well as any other interesting art related stories. The tours run on Newport Gallery Nights from May through October.

After visiting any of the participating galleries, museums, and cultural institutions, make a night of it by exploring the arts and visiting a selection of the participating galleries, museums, and cultural institutions.
